Three second half goals put the Sky Blues to the sword to extend their winless run to four League One games (six in all competitions) with defeat at mid-table Fleetwood Town.

Mark Robins’s men were well in the game until the break but were blown away by the Cod Army who grabbed the lead on 53 minutes before wrapping things up with two goals in the space of three minutes in the 71st and 73rd.

What did City fans make of the defeat?

Here's what they had to say on social media - with plenty of appeals for calm amid the recent sketchy run of form.

Celeb Celery: Fleetwood have a whole lot of experienced pros up front - Madden, Burns, Wallace, Evans. We have mostly young lads because our business plan is to buy 'em young and sell 'em on for a profit. We need experience but the club won't pay for it because there's no profit in it.

Jimi Dyer: I remember when Doyle actually used to put the ball in the box from set pieces. Good times.

Brooklyn: This hate on Chaplin I disagree with he's not had the best of starts to a season but by all means he's not been awful he's gained us 10 points this season. I agree with the fact he should be dropped for a game as his confidence is shaky but he will come good.

Spencer Keogh: Well at least we got home early. About the only saving grace. That and a decent chippy tea.

Scott Weymouth: Look, getting done 3-0 is never good, but I always believed this season would be one of pure inconsistency - a few wins, a fee draws and a few defeats sprinkled in amongst each other, culminating in a mid-table finish. Nothing has changed my mind on that either. But, you know what? That's absolutely fine for your first season after promotion. Consolidate this season, and look to go for it next. TRUST. THE. PROCESS.

Ian Sky Blue: There was genuinely lots to be positive about in 1st half, but we’ve got to be more ruthless when we’re on top.

Matt Richardson: I’m sorry but I really don’t think Chaplin should start the next game. I understand it takes time to find your feet etc but he is missing far to many chances! Not just his fault this performance naturally but at 0-0 he has a chance! Has to start putting them away!

Tom Harris: What a poor day for the club. That result topped it off but why start naming players that “aren’t good enough?” Grow up man every team has an abysmal performance every now and again it happens, feel for the travelling fans after that.

Paul Round: Poor result for @Coventry_City tonight, and a couple of changes to starting eleven is needed. Off field issues certainly won't help. We've only just been promoted. The over reaction by a lot of fans on Twitter is embarrassing.

Neil: The squad and particularly Chaplin need a confidence boost. We don't need to get on his back, we need to get behind him. Young players need support, and they thrive on their confidence. He doesn't need people on his back, but he does need to start putting away chances.

Daniel Brown: Turn the clock back to October and things were looking good for Coventry City and their fans, but today might be the start of a dark few months. And losing 3-0 to Fleetwood is embarrassing. All too pretty around the box. Slap your laces through it. We ain’t Man City.

Jim Dryden: Robins late coming on tonight. Wonder if he's dished a bit out...
